Concord, CA, August 04, 2007 – P.A.C.E., Professional Association for Contract Employment, a provider of premium services for the contingent workforce, based in Concord, CA, announced today that it has changed its corporate identity to Solo W-2, Inc. from Jerzy, Inc., the name it has used since it was founded on this date ten years ago. In keeping with its new corporate identity, the company has re-branded its separate services under the names Solo W-2™, Solo 1099™, Solo IC Compliance™ and Solo Back Office™. Founder, James R. Ziegler, PhD, explains, “Nothing really has changed. Solo W‑2, Inc. has the same ownership, the same business model, the same staff and the same services it had as Jerzy, Inc. We believe that the new corporate identity and suite of branded services more clearly conveys the company’s mission to provide an interconnected mix of premium services for (1) the solo workforce – which includes self-employed persons, small-business owners, freelancers and consultants – and (2) for those organizations that engage solo workers.”

Dr. Ziegler explains, “The four branded services work in concert to support solo professionals and also protect the organizations that employ them.” For example, he points out that Solo IC Compliance™ uses education and contingent workforce compliance testing to mitigate the risks of co-employment and provide the strongest possible affirmative defense against the reclassification of independent contractors as employees of the organizations that engage their consulting services. “Major corporations across the country refer their independent professionals to Solo W-2, Inc. for compliance testing and payroll processing,” he notes.

Solo W-2, Inc. converts non-compliant independent contractors – and others who want to participate in the Solo W-2™ benefits infrastructure – to Warranted W-2™ employee status through the Solo W-2™ employer-of-record service.
